Advice & Regulation
Getting Started
There are four simple things that need to happen once you've signed up to the FRSB scheme:
- Use the tick logo when fundraising
- Tell supporters about your Fundraising Promise to them
- Have a complaints process and nominate a complaints co-ordinator
- Follow the relevant Codes of Fundraising Practice
Display the Tick Logo
- Download a copy of the tick logo from the FRSB website
- Then start using it on your fundraising materials wherever you can - this includes the 'donate now' pages on your website if you have one, fundraising appeal adverts or leaflets and collection boxes
Tell people about your Fundraising Promise
- Display your Fundraising Promise on your website and/or in your offices
- Share it with your team and your volunteers so they know what commitments you have made to your supporters
- You can download a template of the Fundraising Promise to which you can add your logo and contact details
Be ready to handle complaints
- You need to implement a complaints process - a generic complaints process is available should you not currently have one. It must make reference to the FRSB as an additional route to resolution
- Once you have this you should make it easily available to supporters by putting in on your website if you have one or by having it in writing.
- You need to nominate someone in your organisation to be the complaints co-ordinator - this is the person we will speak to should we be asked to get involved in a complaint
Follow the Codes of Fundraising Practice
- You should identify, and make yourself familiar with the Codes that are relevant to your fundraising activities.
- Make sure the relevant staff and volunteers are also aware of these Codes
