Launch of Training Programme for Small Charities
The Fundraising Standards Board (FRSB) and Institute of Fundraising (IoF) are coming together to offer a series of training days across the country exclusively for charities with a voluntary income of under £1 million.
Funded by the Office for Civil Society (OCS),this series aims to help smaller organisations access high quality, cost-effective fundraising training. Each session covers the relevant fundraising regulations, best practice and practical guidance across one of five topics:
- Developing a fundraising strategy
- Raising funds from the local community and events
- Raising support and funds from the corporate sector
- Securing funding from grant making trusts and foundations
- Tax-effective giving
The training sessions have been developed by the Institute of Fundraising and are available to staff members and volunteers of smaller charities that are members of the Fundraising Standards Board.
The series starts on 16th November in London, ending on 28th March 2012 in Exeter. Each training day runs from 10.00am to 4.30pm, costing £20 per delegate.
Alistair McLean, Chief Executive of the Fundraising Standards Board, says: “We are delighted to be able to offer this training to our members. It is so important that fundraisers have a good base training in fundraising skills, as well as a clear understanding of the regulations and best practice guidance. Practising consistently high standards across the sector is the key to building public trust and confidence in charities.”
